Here is why: It is compact and takes up hardly any room in your purse or diaper bag. Great for attachment parenting. You have your baby close, but still have your hands free to do things. It is especially helpful when you have other kids to take care of. You can even breastfeed while your baby is in the sling. It is good for newborn babies to toddlers up to around 35 lbs (so, if you choose to, you can use it until your baby is almost 3 yrs old). It is made for your specific size, so there is no adjustments needed, and no clips or rings to worry about, plus no extra fabric to get in the way. Easy to use and take care of. It can be worn in several different positions depending on the age of your baby: cradle & front positions for newborn & infants (with padding on the outside); front, hip & back positions for infants (with head control) and toddlers (padding on the inside under baby’s knees). It is very comfortable to wear, since it distributes the weight of your baby over your whole back. And the best part, studies have shown that ‘worn’ babies are happier and cry less. ~~~ THE ‘BELLS & WHISTLES’ ~~~ You are bidding on a brand new sling, sewn by me, a wahm, in your custom size, anywhere from 20 to 32 inches (the measurement from the top outside ‘tip’ of your shoulder to opposite hip bone on the side). I don’t mass produce these, so each sling gets special care and attention to details. To get a correct measurement it is essential to use a soft tape (or a string) and measure not too loosely across your chest (your bra size will make a difference in the size you need). If you are currently pregnant, you can have someone measure you the same way, but from the back. If you are not sure how to get a proper measurement, contact me and I will be happy to guide you along. Fabric choices above include: gray, light green, emerald green, tea rose pink, rusty red, linen look, aqua blue, island red, roses on white, sliver on gray jacquard, black on black jacquard, blue on black jacquard, lattice on denim. Please note: the first pattern is only to show how the sling is worn and is currently not available. You have a choice of several high-grade fabrics (as seen above). They are mostly cotton and 2-3% spandex to allow some stretch and give a more comfortable fit. Please contact me at the end of the auction with your choice of fabric and specific size. The sling’s seam is tripple-stitched (standard French seam) to ensure safety. BONUS: This sling is padded (no extra charge) on one edge to make it more comfortable for your toddler by preventing the fabric from digging into your little one’s legs. The padding is also great for the baby’s head/neck to rest on in the infant position. ~~~ OPTIONAL FEATURES ~~~ Please contact me if you are interested in adding any other features to your custom sling, such as toy loops or pockets. Available: toy loops $1 each, regular pocket $3, pocket with zipper $5, carrying/storing pouch in matching fabric – easily doubles as a diaper pouch $5. To add these I will need additional information: if you are right or left handed, and if you would like the loop or pocket on the newborn/infant side or older baby/toddler side.
